This is an exciting time in our country. The first woman of color was elected  the Vice President of the United States of America. Vice President Kamala Harris is still making history by being the first woman of color running now for President of the United States of America.

At the NALC’s 73^rd biennial convention held in early August over 5,500 delegates endorse and support the Harris – Walz ticket. Vice President Kamala Harris and Gov Tim Walz have a history of fighting for unions and union members. The most important election is only days away. The election of Vice President Kamala Harris as President will be a game changing in so many ways.  Legislation benefiting individuals by reducing medicine cost, more housing made affordable and women right to chose will be protected just to name a few.

As letter carriers if we work to get our congressional representatives re-elected a lot of the letter carriers’ legislative issue could be passed. Legislation that is passed will benefit and protect Letter Carriers from attacks that involve guns and other weapons. We need every Letter Carrier Congressional Liaison (LCCL) to contact their congressional representatives and ask them to support the Protect Our Letter Carriers Act (H.7629) and Improving Access to Worker’s Compensation for Injured Federal Workers Act (H.R.618/S.131).

A Senate bill S.131 is attached to H.R. 618. House Representative Colin Allred is running against Ted Cruz to become the next Senator from Texas. We need to let everyone know that Colin Allred is a friend of labor and when he wins Letter Carriers win also. We need do everything to get the word out that the Harris/Walz ticket is the winning ticket to a better life.
